6th International Ayurveda Meeting in the Low Countries
Keep Sunday the 24th of September free in your agenda for the 6th edition of the International Ayurveda Meeting in Ghent.
This year, Lies Ameeuw has invited Dr Sreekrishnan and we are pleased to welcome him to the School of Ayurveda.
Dr Sreekrishnan, MD in Ayurveda (1956) was a professor and director of the Ayurveda college in Kottakal Kerala India for 30 years. He is one of the few Ayurveda doctors practicing the Ashtaangas of Ayurveda and following the school of thought of Kaikulangara Ramavarier of the Kasyapa tradition. Traditionally specialised in Balachiktisa (paediatrics) and Vishachikitsa (neutralisation of poisoning, such as from snake, dog or spider bites), he treats all types of symptoms and is a recognised expert in skin problems both in Kerala and throughout India as a whole.
Life is beautiful when lived simply,
ayurveda is a lifestyle,
that is both simple and beautiful!
My personal experience
Lies Ameeuw explains: "For 4 years, I had a skin condition on my toes and the top of my feet. I would get blisters filled with fluid as well as extreme itching. The only thing that helped a bit was to follow a salt-free diet and to reduce my food intake. I had used scores of antifungal and blood purifying products and ointments (Eastern & Western), though without results. I even once by chance tried treatment with hot springs for a week. The water was supposed to be good for psychosomatic conditions and I then went without symptoms for 3 months, and this was the only thing that ever had a temporary effect."
"He took my wrist and told me right away that I had had these symptoms during a stressful period, which I immediately admitted. I trusted him from the beginning and bought his products. That same evening, I took his herbs and applied the ointment and when I sat down to the table in the morning I told my students that these products were already doing their job. And one month later, my toes were free of itching and blisters."
"He was such a great conversationalist during the consultation, in the vata style, and I could feel his pulse that was extremely calm, clear and meditative. I knew immediately that this was the man to speak from the school's podium this year. For me, he is the ultimate example of the authentic Ayurveda tradition."
